Areas of Practice: Patents
Mr. Breiner's practice includes drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications
before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and patent procurement
in the electrical-mechanical arts, both domestically and in foreign countries. His
domestic experience includes all aspects of U.S. patent prosecution, such as
responding to Office Actions, appeals to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, Examiner interviews, petitions, and other matters. Exemplary
technology areas include semiconductors, including semiconductor structure, semiconductor wafer
processing and equipment and semiconductor fabrication and packaging. Mr. Breiner also has experience
in other technical areas including, digital cameras, digital image processing, laser printers, and electrooptical
systems including scanners, copiers and other peripheral devices.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Breiner focused on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, both foreign
and domestic, at a well established patent boutique firm in Washington, DC.
Prior to embarking on the legal career, Mr. Breiner worked as an engineer in the power industry where he
gained extensive experience in the practical application of mechanical and structural engineering as well
as material science. Mr. Breiner is also a licensed professional engineer.

Nebraska-Lincoln (M.S., Engineering Mechanics), University of Nebraska-Lincoln (B.S., Mechanical
Engineering/Biology)
