Mr. Aksman's practice includes substantially all areas of intellectual property law, with particular focus on patent procurement, freedom-to-practice assessments, patent interferences, reissues, reexaminations, appeals to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, licensing of technology and IP rights, IP due diligence and counseling clients in all aspects of intellectual property, including trade secrets and deceptive advertising.

With more than 28 years of experience as an IP attorney, Mr. Aksman has been lead counsel in IP due diligence matters in transactions valued from $50 million to over $500 million, as well as a provider of strategic IP portfolio counseling to Fortune 100 corporations.

Representative technology areas include: pharmaceuticals, enzymes, biotechnology, medical devices, food products, cosmetics, synthetic fibers, catalytic olefin polymerization, petrochemicals, zeolites, agricultural and industrial chemicals, metal alloys, remote sensing of vehicle exhaust emissions, xerography, mechanical devices, semiconductor and optical disk manufacturing.

Mr. Aksman has presented speeches at professional and educational organizations, including Licensing Executives Society, Cornell University and AUTM on IP topics and he regularly presents seminars to clients on current IP topics.
